MOVEMBER

Every November Men are encouraged to grow a Moustache or a Mo as Australians call it.

The idea is to raise awareness of Men's health issues. The 3 main issues are Suicide prevention, Prostate and Testicular Cancer.

Suicide Prevention

3 out of every 4 suicides are by Men. Men are encouraged to develop strong social connections. There are groups lobbying the Governments to take action and funding initiatives around the world to help Men when they need it.

If you need help call 111 or contact the Samaritans on 116123

Prostate Cancer

1 in 8 Men  in the UK will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Movember helps raise awareness of the signs and symptoms. Money raised help research into new treatments and technology. Often in Bedford campaigns are run where you can go and have your PSA levels checked for FREE.

Testicular Cancer

Movembers focus is on raising awareness and what the signs and symptoms are. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men, however despite long term side effects, the treatment means the odds of survival are 95%
